SUPA STRIKAS CENTENNIAL!
It feels like only yesterday that Shakes took his first steps in his trademark red boots, and this week Supa Strikas celebrates its 100th issue!
100 issues… that’s roughly 1500 story pages, over 10 000 comic frames, and plus minus 25 000 speech bubbles (give or take a few). It’s been a real adventure for the team, and we’re not just talking about the guys in red and white.
Issue 100 hits the streets this Sunday as Supa Strikas battle it out for the Super League trophy. And this week’s Sunday Times also features an interview with Bonisa, the guy whose pencil has brought the soccer story to life from Day One (yup, Day One!)
PS We’re not sure exactly how many goals Strikas have scored thus far. Anybody wanna take a guess?
