Supa Strikas Annual ’06 hits the streets

Supa Strikas’ annual is hot off the press and about to hit the magazine racks ahead of the holidays. Supa Strikas Annual ’06 features 200 full colour pages, jam-packed with entertaining soccer action and, for the first time, a bonus interactive DVD.




A major attraction in the annual this year is designed introduction pages. Using a graf feel they tell a bit about each story… depending how closely you look! Head Designer, Jason Lewis, is confident this year’s offering will blow the minds of Supa Strikas readers across South Africa.



“There’s a lot to keep fans reading and watching this year,” says Lewis.

“The DVD includes the Supa Strikas Cup Final Survival Tips series, as well as a number of desktop wallpapers of your favourite Supa Strikas characters,” he adds.

The
DVD also includes a new Supa Strikas Animated short, as well as bonus material and the series' soundtrack single, Game On, performed by Lungelo.

VW Golf Winner!

Supa Strikas and Caltex with Techron joined forces once again, making one lucky Supa Strikas reader very happy indeed. Mathews Khaya Maseko’s entry was drawn at the Strika offices in Cape Town this week, making him the proud owner of a brand new VW CITIGOLF 1.4!!

The prize itself was drawn into the July and August issues of Supa Strikas and the Strika HQ in Cape Town was flooded with thousands of entries. The competition draw was supervised by Suzanne Pullinger from Caltex, a lawyer, and Strika Production Manager, Clair Rivera.

Mathews, from Daveyton, was ecstatic about his early Christmas present when he was told of his good fortune. As the winner of the Supa Strikas’ competition, he is now the lucky owner of a brand new VW CITIGOLF 1.4 with a full tank of Caltex with Techron.

Supa Strikas debuts at MIPCOM Jr.

Cape Town-based Strika Entertainment debuted its first Flash-animated series, Supa Strikas, at this year’s MIPCOM Jr, in Cannes, France.


The in-production animation series is based on the popular comic Supa Strikas, currently distributed in Africa, Europe and South America. The comic follows the journey of the world’s greatest soccer team and the variety of characters who turn football into a thrill-a-minute page-turner!

The television series focuses on the dreams of Shakes, a talented youngster who has a shot at realising his life dream. But can reconcile his past with his dreams of glory? Supa

Strikas debuted on TV in Africa in Supa Strikas: Cup Final Survival Tips - a short form animation Flash animation, which focuses on exciting soccer action in a classic end-of-season showdown.
