Sorry for the late posting everyone!
We had problems getting online in New York, so that had a bit of a knock on effect of late posting.

A full summary with pics will be up over the next few days.

Strike 1!

Okay, so here we go. Let's start at the beginning.
Tuesday the 11th of July saw us leave Cape Town at around 8pm for London on BA, for our transfer flight to New York.
Wednesday the 12th saw us arrive at JFK at around 11am. After the usual ques and passport checks we were finally on US soil.
We took the subway into Manhattan, where we got off in Chelsea and walked to our accomodation for the next 4 nights, the Chelsea Inn. Fortunately our rooms had working air con, as the weather was extremely hot and humid.

Jason and Pete... you guessed it, on the stairs as well.

Since it was Hennie's first trip overseas, and Petes first trip to New York, we decided to start off by having lunch at Planet Hollywood in Times Square.

After a great lunch of colon clogging burgers and watery American beer we hit the streets to introduce the new New Yorkers to the city's busy and interesting streets.

Strika / San Diego Comic-Con 2006

Hi Everyone!
Sorry for the late posting. We finally have internet at our hotel, so we're finally connected.

As some of you may or may not know, four Strika employees, Alex Kramer, Hennie Blaauw, Pete Woodbridge and myself, Jason Lewis, left for the States on 11 July on a research trip as well as to attend the world's largest comic convention, the San Diego Comic-Con between the 19th and 23rd of July.

We're in Hollywood, Los Angeles at the moment, staying at the Highland Garden's hotel.
New York was great! Just rather taxing on our feet and internal clocks. Having travelled over 20 hrs (via London) to New York left us a little jet lagged, but hey, we were in New York, so we put it behind us and had a very exciting and productive trip.

I have to go now, but will post soon with more details.
Cheers!
