Virtual Hilarity

Arcadia is the story of three kids who get to play their favourite arcade game for real. The comic’s heroes - Fenn, Zeno, Rozi and their dog Maz – become avatar versions of themselves when they enter the realm of the game in a series of adventures. Six million copies of the comic will hit the streets when it launches in You, Huisgenoot and Drum magazines this week. The two-page comic will be a weekly feature in all three publications.

Pictured below are (clockwise from the left) Ryan, Lee, Lwazi, Warwick, Willem, Clair and Alex. And now we’re just waiting to meet their avatar selves…

Deck the halls with football jerseys

Canadian-based daCapo Productions handles the sound on the Supa Strikas animation series. And when the festive season rolled around, daCapo’s Kevin and Nolan brought all the characters together to record their very own Christmas carol. The result was an hilarious version of “Deck the Halls” as sung by Shakes and his teammates. It even features the vocal stylings of the notoriously uncooperative villain, Toni Vern! Now spill the beans daCapo… is Shakes penning ditties for Eid, Kwanzaa and Rosh Hashanah?!
