Freestyle… Strikas-style!

The Kosmo Futsal Varsity League has kicked off in Malaysia, with 250 university teams competing in a series of 5-a-side indoor football clashes. As part of the event, Caltex and Supa Strikas have joined forces to sponsor the Freestyle Fever competition. From now until October students will battle it out for the title of Malaysia’s Best Varsity Freestyler. And the final will be attended by Abbas Mohd Farid, freestyling legend and star of countless music videos and TV commercials.

The next few months are bound to bring some super-cool moves… so watch this space!

It was the best of Times...

Supa Strikas writer, David Stein, has been busy with a side project of late. He and co-director Lindsay Meyerowitz took up the Durban Film Festival challenge to write and produce a short film in just two weeks. Dave and his team forged ahead with their weekend shoot despite serious storm warnings, and the result is Hard Times, a five-minute silent film. Look out for lead actor and veteran pianist, Godfrey Johnson, who delivers a superb performance.
