Chico and co. take on Egypt

The launch of Supa Strikas in Egypt was a major event for the likes of Shakes, North Shaw and Big Bo… or Chico, Tito and Bobo Al Kabeer, as they’re known in their new territory. 45 000 copies of the comic were distributed to cars passing between Cairo and Alexandria. Then another 45 000 copies were delivered to Caltex stations across the two cities, where they were handed out to motorists buying a minimum of 30 litres of fuel. The Egyptian version is the first Arabic translation of Supa Strikas, which means each frame of each comic page is flipped so it reads from right to left.
