Bridled Passion
Strika revels in the happiness of its employees, so we caught up with newly wed Debbie Breach (nee Pentz) to find out all about the happiest day in her life…
Q: Where was the bachelorette party?
A: For the first part of the day in a bridal setup it was: Camps bay beach to tan and beg for drinking money (the girls gave me a very cute bucket for tips), Caprice to drink and beg for cash and Cavendish for supplies…and more begging. Then in the evening dressed up in a Moulin Rouge themed outfit: we started off with food and drinks at Kink in Loop Street. We then headed back to Caprice for another drink and more begging. I don’t remember the name of the bar we ended up at but it was awesome!
Q: What’s the name of the lucky man?
A: Stephen.
Q: If you had to liken him to any Strika character, which would it be?
A: Uh…North Shaw maybe? Just because of the surfing…
Q: Did you leave him waiting at the altar just a little bit… to make him extra thankful when you did show up?
A: HAHA, no that’s mean! The whole wedding was late though…we only kept the guests waiting!
Q: Chicken or fish? What was on the menu?
A: Ooh that was a goodie! Crayfish dipped in wasabi butter for appetizers, Mezze platter for starters, fillet steak with a red wine sauce for mains and Dessert consisted of mini koeksusters, malva puddings, milk tarts, brownies and cheeses…and cake!
Q: Was the first dance traditional romantic, or gangsta rap?
A: VERY romantic: ‘Stolen’ by Dashboard Confessional.
Q: Which of these nicknames have you been called?
Lil Breaches
Breach over troubled waters
Breachy Keen
Ex-Pentz-ive
A: HAHA, holy moly! None yet…only you could think of those!
Q: What will you miss most about Pre-wedding Debbie?
A: Nothing at all!
Q: What would Pre-wedding Debbie like to say to Post-wedding Debbie?
A: Congrats. No kidding…this is a weird question.
Q: How many toasters did you receive?
A: None… I did receive a gorgeous coffee machine though ;-)
Q: Now that the wedding is over, what tips do you have for other Strika employees who might soon be going down the aisle?
A: Remember to relax and take the whole day in. It goes by sooo quickly. Have a videographer even if it’s a friend holding a video camera because you will want to look back at the day….and get as many people as you can to help out. It pays to be organized!
